Admittedly, I am one to stay away from motels and prefer to stay in a hotel. Due to the UC Santa Cruz graduation, however, it was difficult to book a room for that weekend. In desperation, I booked a couple of rooms at National 9 for a Sunday UCSC graduation. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and kept the motel is. The front staff was courteous and helpful. The rooms were very clean and well kept. The location was convenient and right off the freeway. It was easy to navigate to the campus from the motel. Prices were quite high due to the graduations but comparable to all the other lodging options in the area.
We liked this place so much, we came again for another night. Very clean rooms, obviously well cared for, very reasonable rates, and exceptionally kind owners. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
This motel was absolutely wonderful! The staff was very kind and helpful, the pool was clean, and our room was spotless and included a microwave and coffee pot with coffee. We will definitely be coming back
The room was a little tight with the two queen beds in the room. Had to walk sideways to get around the bed to get to the bathroom. The front desk was very friendly and helpful also the maid staff was friendly and made sure we had what we needed in the room. Nice location right off the highway and has several restaurants within walking distance. Nice little pool. The only thing wrong was the bed when I laid down it felt like my feet were higher then my head just added a pillow for the car to level out. Nice water pressure in the shower, deep tub and good temperature for the water.
I realize I'm giving 5 stars to a 2.5 star property, but it's well deserved. We needed a last minute room in Santa Cruz while attending a show at UCSC. Found it on line. We were a little concerned about booking here due to the super low price. When we arrived, we loved this property's location, ample parking & overall condition. The staff was friendly & professional. We were given an upstairs, large corner room with a King bed. This property was perfect for what we needed.
